The Russ Weeks gubernatorial campaign has announced the launch of a new website, No Mo Mojo
(www.nomomojo.org), highlighting Gov. Joe Manchin’s failed policies, abuse of taxpayer dollars, unprecedented consolidation of power and, most importantly, the cronyism that led to the scandal at West Virginia University involving the awarding of a phony degree that eventually led to the resignation of the school’s president.
The website takes visitors through news accounts of the past three and a half years of the Manchin administration, reminding voters of the governor’s abuse of tax dollars for his personal comfort and travel, his appointment of direct family members to important public positions, his interference in the WVU athletic department, and the failure of his policies to lift West Virginia from its dismal last place standing in most national economic categories.
“Joe Manchin’s record is one of enhancing the power and celebrity of Joe Manchin the politician at the expense of the needs of the average West Virginian,” said Gary Abernathy, spokesman for the campaign.
“While the governor relaxes in marble bathtubs and watches sporting events on his plasma TV, the people of West Virginia remain mired in an economy hopelessly stalled in last place. We can do better, and we can accomplish great things, but only by electing someone who puts his state ahead of himself. Russ Weeks offers West Virginians a clear choice between the politics of self-sacrifice, which has been the cornerstone of Russ’ life, versus the politics of self aggrandizement.”

'Prime Time Joe' will have four minutes, but Rockefeller's spot is not much better
After the Democratic National Committee finally agreed to add Gov. Joe Manchin to its telephone-book size speaker list at the convention next week, Mojo excitedly told MetroNews he was indeed speaking in "prime time," no less, just before Hillary Clinton and Mark Warner.
Well, technically, he is speaking before Clinton and Warner, but in much the same way that May comes before December. According to the latest speaking schedule for Tuesday issued by the DNC, here's the lineup, staring with Manchin's place on the schedule: Joe Manchin, then Iowa Gov. Chet Culver, then Wisconsin Gov. Jim Doyle, then California State Controller John Chiang, then Planned Parenthood of America President Cecile Richards, then Sen. Patrick Leahy, then Hillary Clinton, and finally Mark Warner. When the gov says he's speaking in prime time, he's talking "Jeopardy" prime time, not "American Idol" prime time.
Meanwhile, the guy who got Mojo in a huff to begin with when it was first announced that he was speaking, Sen. Jay Rockefeller, is in reality in no better position, which should make the folks at 1900 Kanawha Blvd. feel a little better. Rockefeller speaks in Denver on Wednesday, when the featured prime times speakers are Bill Clinton and whoever Barack Obama chooses as his running mate. But there are no fewer than nine speakers taking the podium after Rockefeller and before Clinton, so Jay should have no trouble catching a Rockies game later that evening.

To fuel this spending, Barack Obama will raise taxes that will hurt all Americans. The ad will play in key states.
